Israel Camp, Mormon Pioneers, Latter Day Saints, and Quail

Stuck in the Snow

I had to go up to our cabin today to check it.  In general just make sure it has not been broken into, that there are no leaks, the furnace is working fine, etc.  It takes about an hour to get there and I wanted to get in and out pretty quick.  The HOA where our cabin is located does not allow you to park on the dirt roads; if you do they will tow you pretty quick.  When I arrived there was only about 3-4 inches of snow in the driveway but it was packed hard!  I could jump up and down on it and it would only depress about a quarter of an inch.  I knew I would be there for at least an hour or two and was worried about leaving my car on the road so I didn’t block others and didn’t get towed.

Temple Work for a Dear Friend

One of my best friends from my high school days committed suicide in 2005. It was a tragedy and very sorrowful to hear at the time. Over the last several years I have thought about him on and off many times; wondering what state he is in now. His mother was Luterhan and his father was LDS but inactive for 30+ years. During his life and when I knew him he followed the Lutheran faith although he was not religious in general.
